Life
Zwilich was the first woman to win the Pulitzer prize. She Played Violin in Leopold Stokowski’s Orchestra, while studying with Elliott Carter & Roger Sessions, at the Julliard school of Music. Boulez Conducted the Premier of her first work "Premier Symposium" 31 January 1975. She then 8 years later won the prize for her first Symphony. Her music is flowing and very collorful in expression.
