Life

Josué Bonnín de Góngora was born in Madrid (Spain) in 1970, where he completed superior studies of piano, harmony, composition and counterpoint. He started feeling attracted by music at an early age, so that when he was only thirteen he had already composed several works, among which it is worth mentioning the Waltz in C minor, where we notice the structure and expression of future works. Some time later he writes another two waltzes (Remembrance Waltz and waltz in A minor) and composes the first piece of a group of 25 lyric works known as "Poems", among which it is the praised suite Ana. At the age of twenty he writes the Sonata in C minor, which is the first of the seven he has composed so far. Some years later he starts composing another group of works named "Tales of the Retreat". As the "Poems", these "tales" are of a strong romantic nature, but they are in a different psychological level, which sometimes reaches the sonata structure, as we can perceive in "The Vagabond and the Life", "Winter Wind" or "Broken Love".

His repertoire as interpreter is very varied: Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Rachmaninov,... but the great reception his work has received led him to centre his concerts on it. He has given concerts in many auditoria of Madrid: Centro Cultural de la Villa, Centro Cultural Conde Duque, Centro Cultural Príncipe de Asturias, Centro Cultural Moncloa, Centro Cultural Buenavista, Centro Cultural Nicolás Salmerón, Casa del Reloj, Casa de Vacas de El Retiro, Teatro Reina Victoria, Teatro Bohemios, Auditorio José Mª Cagigal, Palacio Isabel de Farnesio (Aranjuez), Fundación ONCE, Fundación Caja Madrid...

Discography: CD with some of his piano woks played by him; CD with the "Poem to María Luisa".

Currently, apart from his piano concerts, it is worth mentioning his collaboration with Rafael Taibo in several voice and piano recitals with poems of the Spanish poet Bécquer, and the performance of the Three Wise Men Ballet, by Luis Ruffo’s dance company, in several theatres of Madrid.
