Upload your photos
Dear %3% (%2%),
This newsletter is a bit late, as I have been on a vacation. That is also the reason that the updates that were sent to me over the last month have not all been handled yet. I will do my best to deal with them in the coming weeks.
New: add photos to composer page
You can now upload a photo for a composer directly to the website. This should make it easier for you to add portraits and other relevant pictures to a composer page.
Many of the composers on my site already have a photo or portrait, but quite some are still in need of one, or could do with an extra one. If you think you can supply another image, then it is now easy to add it.
The procedure for adding a photo should be clear. After logging in, you will find an upload form on the page of a place. Select the image file from your computer, optionally add a description, and click the upload button. Depending on the speed of your internet conenction, it will take a minute or so before the photo is copied to the website. The site will take care of resizing the photos.
Note that you will also have to certify that you have the right to upload the photo. I will maintain the right to remove photos that are not relevant.
Upload your MusicAtlas photos
Since two months it is also possible to share your own photos for a specific MusicAtlas place on the site. If you have ever travelled to one of the places of the MusicAtlas, and have a nice picture that you want to share, then you can upload it (remember: log in first!).
Uploading works the same as for composer photos (see above).
Add MP3s
I also welcome MP3 recordings that can be published on the site. Please note that I can only accept recordings for which the copyright holders (composer and performer(s)) have given their permission to put it on the Classical Composers Database.
There are instructions on how to submit MP3 files: see http://www.classical-composers.org/page/submit_files. They cannot yet be uploaded to the site directly. I am working on that.
Add your upcoming concerts
Don’t forget to add your concert announcements. It’s free and easy: go to the page (remember: first log in!) http://www.classical-composers.org/submit/event, and fill in the details.
