Classical Composers Database News
Find a composition!
Dear %3% (%2%),
Though July is always a quiet month on the Web, I have not been idle. A lot of work has been done to implement some exciting new features for the Classical Composers Database. Read on...
New: Composition search
A few months ago I started adding composition data to the site. Now I have also created a composition search form, which lets you find pieces based on title, genre, key, instrumentation, composition date, and more!
I invite you to try out this advanced composition search, and let me know what you think of it. You can find the search page here: http://www.classical-composers.org/page/srch.
Note that this search option is still under development: The compositions of only a limited number of composers are included, and not all metadata are complete or correct yet.
Compositions from the following composers are now searchable: Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Ravel, Elgar, Widor, Wagstaff, Adinsell, Akpabot, and several others. More compositions will be added constantly.
Also new: MP3 sound files
What is a music website without the option to listen to music? It's incomplete! That is why I introduced this much wanted feature.
One of the first MP3 files for you to enjoy is a sample of Gregers Brinch’s new CD, called “Blue Harmony”. Here is the news item with the sound sample: http://www.classical-composers.org/news/82 (your browser needs to have the Flash plugin).
If you are interested in adding a sound file to the Classical Composers Database (there must be no copyright issues!), then please contact me about it: <submit@classical-composers.org>.
Add concerts announcements
With the new concert season at hand, you may want to spend some time to advertise your concerts on the Classical Composers Database. It is easy, and without costs.
After you have logged in with your account details (see below), go to the form on the following page: http://www.classical-composers.org/submit/event. Then fill in the concert details (date, place, composers and description) and submit the form. The announcement will appear on the website immediately!
