Concert announcements easier to add

Dear %3% (%2%),

After April's newsletter I received many positive reactions. I would like to thank you for that, as it helps me improve the Classical Composers Database. Below you can read about the latest news.

Instant concert announcements

Until now, after you submitted a concert announcement, you depended on me to actually add it to the site. But you can do this without my help now. And it's easy!

Here is how it works:

When you now go to the announcement — still being logged in — you will see that you can also link composers to the announcement. This way it will be visible form that composers' pages too.

Is a composer missing from the Classical Composers Database? Use the composer submission form to let me know about him or her.

More articles

Another article has been published on the site. This time it is by composer Jussi Vaarala, about subjective and objective music.

More people have sent me articles, but unfortunately I haven't had the time to add them yet. Be assured that the articles will be added. I will announce it in the newsletter.

Composition pages

In the last newsletter I announced the introduction of pages for each single composition. There has been some progress in this. Several more composers have their composition list now presented in the new way, see e.g. Bach, Mozart, Widor and Ravel.

From these lists you can go to the page for a composition, which will provide you with more more details. On the composition page you can also leave a message (when you are logged in).

Soon I will also make it possible for you to add or correct other information for each composition, like e.g. the exact instrumentation.

Composition lists

Related to the previous: I am still looking for lists of compositions for composers. Some of you already sent me valuable information for this, which I plan to add to the site this summer.

Let me know if you think you can help me with this.

Slow with updates

If you have recently sent any updates for the site, you might find that I have been slow in adding them. The reason for this is that it was necessary to give some priority to technical improvements to the site.

Your contributions are not lost. They are safely stored in my e-mail box, waiting to be added to the site.

Your user page

You can find your public user page here: http://www.classical-composers.org/user/%1%.

If you want to change your account setting, then log in to the site and go to the account page: http://www.classical-composers.org/page/account.

With best regards,
Jos Smeets
