Last Monday the Bard College in Annandale announced that the John Cage Trust will move to their school. The Cage Trust oversees the published and unpublished work of composer, writer and artist John Cage. The move to Bard will be complete this spring.
After the death of John Cage in 1992 all his holdings passed on to dancer and choreographer Merce Cunningham, with whom he worked together much.
The trust's executive director, Laura Kuhn, will administer the trust from the college. She will also be the first John Cage Professor of Performance Arts. As such Kuhn will teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses.
The John Cage Trust at Bard College will open his materials through courses, workshops, concerts and other events. In many cases these will be open to the public.
