Composer Kevin Puts has won the 2012 Pullitzer Prize for Music for his "Silent Night: Opera in Two Acts." The piece was commissioned and premiered by the Minnesota Opera in Minneapolis on November 12, 2011.
Puts now teaches composition at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He studied composition and piano at the Eastman School of Music and Yale University. He wrote a Cello Concerto that was premiered by Yo-Yo Ma.
