An unknown song composed by Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach was rediscovered in the Hessischen Musikarchiv, in Marburg, Germany. The copy that was found back is handwritten, but researchers find it unlikely that it is an autograph.
The piece was composed for the wedding of his piano pupil Juliane von Hessen-Philippsthal with Count Philipp II von Schaumburg-Lippe in Bückeburg in 1780. The song has seven stanzas, and is written for soprano and cembalo.
