The baroque era in music lasted roughly from 1600 till 1750, which is usually subdivided into early baroque (1600-1650), high baroque (1650-1700) and late baroque (1700-1750).
Composers that were born in Italy, or gained the Italian nationality.
A term used for composers who worked in Venice from about 1550 to around 1610. These composers were very influential, and the polychoral tradition tthey started was famous in all Europe. This new tradition was the transition of the Renaissance to the Baroque area in music.
