Trio Jankovic - Giacometti - Thompson Candida Thompson - violin, Xenia Jankovic - cello, Paolo Giacometti -piano
This trio of world class players based in Amsterdam will play an all Brahms programme.
The cello sonata op.99, violin sonata op. 100 and piano trio op. 101 written in the summer of 1886 were often played together in the same concert by Joachim and Brahms himself. Candida Thompson is known as artistic director of the Amsterdam Sinfonietta; Xenia Jankovic is a leading Serbian/Russian cellist and Paolo Giacometti an Italian/Dutch soloist and chamber musician.
