I was a child at school in Barry in the 1950's and I remember at Christmas we sang a carol by Grace Williams a setting of the Southwell poem 'The Burning Babe' for some reason this morning I woke up thinking of it , and have been on the net looking for a recording of it.Haunting passionate and wonderful

A WONDERFUL COMPOSER!

Grace Williams was one of the finest neo-Romantic 20th composers, and I love her work. I could scarcely believe she was Welsh or any nationality ither than American. Her music has a jazz edge to it, and in my playlists I have ended up classifying her under "American", not because SHE was, but because her music reflects soul.

This published copy was performed from in the 1960’s — it appears to be on catalogue listings. It was a very listenable piece of music. Does someone know more about this?
