- English composer Graham Whettam dies
(23 August 2007)A few weeks before his 80th birthday English composer Graham Whettam has died at his home.
He began composing when he was 16 years old. However, a spinal illness forced him to spend much of his time resting. Fortunately, recommandations from the Sheffield Cathedral organist and Sir Adrian Boult (the conductor) persuaded him to follow his vocation in music.

Graham Whettam wrote music for symphony orchstra, chamber orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo instruments and vocal music. Further also both liturgical and secular choral music.
Meriden Music, which was founded by Graham Whettam, published over 75 of his own works.
