Life

He was educated at the conservatories of Brussels and Antwerp. He has been working for Radio 3 (VRT - Belgian Radio) since 1968, and was head of the chamber music departement and the larger Radio-events. Between 1970 and 1983 he was professor for music analyses at the Royal Antwerp Music Conservatory. As a composer he won several prizes such as the Tenuto prize for his Metamorphose for large orchestra in 1972 and the prize of the Province of Antwerp for his ‘Landscapes I ' for woodwind quintet. In 1985 he recieved the Eugène Baie prize in recognition of the artistic value of his oeuvre. He was also invited to the ‘4th International Brass Quintet Festival’ in Baltimore in 1983 and to the ‘I Fiamminghi in Campo’ festival in Antwerp in 1995. He is member of the board of directors of the UBC (Belgian composers Union) and representative of the Flemish Compôsers at the CeBeDeM (Belgian Music Information Centre).
