Music
Robert Wendel specializes in lighter, more accessible contemporary classical music as well as symphonic pops arrangements. In recent years he has added more serious works to his catalog including several related to 9/11. Several of his works have been recorded by the Cincinnati Pops, Cleveland Pops, Houston Symphony, Atlanta Youth Symphony, and the Tasmanian Symphony of Australia. His works have also been broadcast live at the National Memorial Day Concerts on PBS, and the annual Flint Symphony Christmas Concert telecasts throughout Michigan, and on “Performance Today” from American Public Radio.
Life
Born, raised, and educated in Connecticut, Robert Wendel now resides in New York City. He has worked as a conductor for several stars, but since 1996 he has worked almost exclusively as a composer and arranger for clients including the Cincinnati Pops, Houston Symphony, New York Pops, and others. When not composing or arranging he enjoys amateur astronomy and occasionally chasing tornados.
