Music

Part spellbinder, part perfectionist, part mad inventor, Kubilay Üner strives to bring a dramatic approach to all his music. He combines sampled instruments with live performance and manipulated electronics into sonic Technicolor layers that are as engaging as they are complex.

Life

Munich-born, L.A.-based composer Kubilay Üner has bounced around the planet and through every genre, which explains a thing or two about his individual approach to music.

He studied composition at the Academy of Music in Cologne, workshopped with Luigi Nono in Avignon, and eventually earned his Masters degree with Mort Subotnick at CalArts.

With multiple feature film scores, record productions and concert music works to his credit, Kubi is as comfortable in the concert hall as he is in the recording studio or on the dubbing stage.
