Date of Birth unclear

Different sources mention different dates for Stradella's birth. The New Grove (1986) gives 1 October 1644. In Wikipedia it depends on the language you choose. 3 April 1639 is given often, but also 1644. I do not know which is the correct date, and what sources were used. Can somebody clarify?
