Music

Alessandro Simonetto wrote music, mostly counterpoint, for piano (mazurkas, fugues), organ (fugues, fantasias and fugues), disklavier & accordion ("egaC", on the 11th september tragedy), "One Note: An Algorithmic Music", 2004) chamber and choral music (e.g. 12 choral arrangements on Lutheran chorales), music for theatre ("La Guardiana d’Oche alla Fonte", 1997-8) and popular music (e.g. "Xe morta a vecia campanara").

Life

Alessandro Simonetto taught himself in secret to play the piano and later attended the Conservatory of Music in Castelfranco Veneto (Treviso), where he graduated after just three years. At the same time he completed courses with important pianists, including Aquiles delle Vigne, Andràs Schiff, Marco Fumo, Garry Dial, Cecil McBee and Eric James.

As a concert pianist Alessandro performed in cities such as Vienna, Munich, Stuttgart, Zürich, Cologne, Milan, Bologna - albeit for a brief period only (1995-1998).

Mr. Simonetto also graduated in electronic music under Nicola Bernardini at the "Pollini" Conservatory of Padua with full marks in composition.

In April 2002 Alessandro gave way to his website Kunst der Fuge / OnClassical [http://www.kunstderfuge.com] which is actually the largest resource of classical music in MIDI support in the World Wide Web for its vastness, quality and gratuity!
