Life

He grew up in the country, in a small village.

Since his first compositions, from one’s earliest years (most of them in a sort of baroque style) he looked for a new interpretation of scores with some intuitions and improvisation technique. He is an autodidact musician: he plays piano, guitar and bass. He studied Handel, Bach.

Fourteen years old, he started to analyse the main genres of music which characterized the twentieth century.

He worked the whole 2003 with "Posizione Fetale", a project of songs with acoustoelectronic instruments and refined self-analytical lyrics. Posizione Fetale (10 songs) was published by own label Idea Psichedelica on February 2004 and had received favourable opinion from italian press.

Giovanni A. Sechi, in March 2004, rejected a proposal from an indipendent label, which offered a own reprint of Posizione Fetale.

The sardinian singer-songwriter showed his own aim to go on with musical research, without any commercial constraint.

Then he started to travel, looking for new subjects to write of, and played live with established musicians like Marco Parente, Paolo Benvegnù (Scisma).

After the appreciations for the Milano performance the 1st of April, G.A.Sechi carried on the collaboration with singer-songwriter Andrea Nannerini, who is recording his first EP, Bianca (it will be published by Produzioni Pezzente, an italian indie-label)

At the moment G.A. Sechi is recording his third album, which is untitled yet.

<theglass_2(at)hotmail.com> writes: Born in 1988 in Sardinia, he studied operatic sing as "sopranista" (vocal range: C4–B5). After "Posizione Fetale" (selfproduct, 2004), Giovanni A. Sechi is invited to play with singer-songwriters Paolo Benvegnù and Marco Parente in Milan. In July 2005 he participated in "Acufeni", the first Sig. Sapio EP (selfproduct, 2005) performing "Xalkididòs". He will come back in Milan in September to present "Una Disperata Vitalità, un omaggio a Pier Paolo Pasolini" (A Desperate Vitality: a tribute to Pasolini). After releases (Canzoni in Distruzione, 2005), concerts and collaborations (Sardegna Arte Fiera www.sardegnaartefiera.it — with video artist Giovanni Coda) he is recording a new album.
