Biography

Violinist and composer, played in Dresden Court Orchestra from 1823 to 1873, and in addition was leader from 1861 (Oxford Consise Dictionary of Music).

In France he worked under the name François Schubert. His father, Franz Anton Schubert (1768–1827), was also a composer.
