[I am still looking for information about the music of Peter Schat, that I can publish here. If you think you can help, then let me know.]

Biography

Peter Schat has a wonderful interview in Dufallo’s "Trackings." Actually, from Dufallo’s original tapes that I just transerred I learned that Peter Schat was interviewed twice by Dufallo, once on February 15, 1986, and again in 1987 around Easter in Amsterdam. a few of Peter Schat’s works include "On Escalation", the hight of total serialisation for Schat and his last twelve-tone piece; Houdini Symphony, Houdini Opera (both performed at Aspen under Dufallo); and "The Death of Tchaikovski" is another opera by Schat performed by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam. His webpage-auto-biography is on the internet. (Contribution by <dbacamail.twu.edu>.)
