Life
Olivia Saunders Fox was born in 1980 in Kingston-upon-Thames, England. Always showing a flair for music, she started learning to play the piano age 4, followed soon after by the violin, also taking up the flute, harp and guitar. At about the age of only 7, Olivia started creating her own compositions and by the age of 14 she had written her first concerto — a Double Violin Concerto — which was performed publicly on many occassions, including a memorial for her great uncle — composer Neil Saunders — an accomplished, successful composer who died shortly after Olivia completed writing the concerto.
Olivia then went on to study music as one of her 10 GCSEs gaining a grade A, and then went on to get straight As in her 5 A-levels, again of them being music.
Olivia was taught at the Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton, Middlesex, and entered the Music Competition in 1997 in which she won First Prize — winning the cup for excellence in performance and composition.
She went on to study Psychology at University College London, graduating with a 2:1 in 2003. However, she continued her musical composition alongside, and had private tuition with the chief examiner of the Royal College of Music.
In 2007, Olivia got engaged to her best friend and soulmate, Joel Fox and they got married on 6th January 2008. Olivia gave private piano lessons to children whilst continuing composing. In April 2008, Olivia fell pregnant with their first child, and gave birth to their beautiful baby son on 25th January 2009 who they named Rafael.
Olivia Saunders Fox is recognised as a talented composer and has now completed her first album entitled New Horizons. It is a beautiful and diverse collection of modern orchestral music inspired by her life over the last few years.
