Music

A number of chamber music song cycles and instrumental chamber works.

Biography

Started piano at age 7. Studied percussion at age 15. Began serious studies in conducting at the University of Arizona in 1982. This led to studies at the Aspen Music Festival and at various National and International Workshops. Received a Doctorate from University of Arizona in 1998. Also holds a Masters Degree from University of Illinois and a Bachelors Degree from University of Arizona. Starting composing during college days at University of Illinois. He has composed a number of chamber works, most importantly, works for soprano and chamber ensemble. In addition he has composed a number of chamber works featuring percussion. Two new chamber works will be premiered in 2004 - one at Indiana State University and one at the University of Central Arkansas. Dr. Roscigno is Director of Orchestral Studies at California State University, Northridge and Music Director of the CSUN Youth Orchestras. In addition to conducting and composing he continues an active career as a professional performer on piano and percussion.
