Music

Compositions written in styles of different epochs, beginning with the theoretical and historical musicology of ancient Greece and continuing to the most contemporary free atonal styles. Much of the music is converted from the accoustic and linear notation systems to the electronic ABC format.

Biography

Michael Repoulis was born in Athens Greece February 12 1955. In 1963 he emigrated with his family to Johannesburg, South Africa where he received this first lessons in guitar. In 1974 he moved to Canada. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, guitar and composition with Alan Torok, Norbert Kraft and Dr.Anthony Dawson. Eversince he has composed for the guitar and piano and has published numerous works in Canada, U.S. and U.K. with several prominent publishers such as Nova Music in Sussex and Fretted Instruments Guild of America. His music has also been included in the RCM Toronto syllabus, University of Toronto Library and several other public libraries. He is continuing to explore the means to the findings of new sounds and he combines the past with the present to form a new style. He is presently residing in Toronto with his wife Zoya and two sons George, 7, and Alex, 4.
