Music

Biography

Daniel Pinkham studied organ and harmony at Andover (Phillips Academy). Walter Piston was his first compostition teacher at Harvard. Other teachers were Aaron Copland, Archibald T. Davison, and A. Tillman Merritt. In 1944 he received his master’s degree. He also studied harpsichorg (with Wanda Landowska) and organ.

For a long time Pinkham was organist and music director at the King’s Chapel.
