- Penderecki to compose Olympic music
[posted 13 February 2007]The deputy head of the Polish Olympic Committee, Ryszard Parulski, has announced that Krzysztov Penderecki will compose music for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. It is not yet clear what the nature of the composition will be, and what place it will have in the opening ceremony.

- Honorary degree for Penderecki at Münster University
[posted 23 February 2006]Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki will be given a honorary degree at the Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, Germany. The ceremony will take place on 31 March 2006. The philosophical faculty honors this important composer, who wrote world history 40 years ago, when his famous St. Luke Passion was premiered in this city. [Source: www.uni-muenster.de]
