[In Dutch] Belangrijke werken zijn: voor orgel: Variaties en Finale (1929), Toccata, fuga en hymne op Ave Maris Stella (1933), Vlaamse Rapsodie (1935), Elegie (1935), Passacaglia e fuga (1938), Sinfonia per organo (1940), Lied-Symphony (1948), Drei Preluden und Fugen (1950), Six Lyrical Pieces (1966), Sonata quasi una fantasia (1977); voorts 233 koraalvoorspelen o.m. in Hymn Preludes, opus 100 (24 dm., 1959-1964) en kleinorgelliteratuur; voor koor: vele missen o.m. Missa Festiva (1948), psalm In convertendo (1963), motetten, concerti voor orgel en orkest (1944), voor orgel en piano (1951) en voor orgelpositief en klavecimbel (1973).

Verzorgde een uitgave van Oudnederlandse meesters voor het orgel en schreef een driedelige orgelmethode Ars Organi (1952).


Large output of organ music. It addition he compsoed Masses, other church music, piano works and songs.

Life

Flor Peeters studeerde in 1919 aan de Interdiocesane School voor kerkmuziek (beter bekend als het Lemmensinstituut). Reeds in 1921 behaalde hij het einddiploma, en in datzelfde jaar werd hij benoemd tot tweede organist van de St. Rombouts kerk te Mechelen. Hij componeerde o.m. werken voor orgel, piano, kamermuziek, liederen en koorwerken. Tevens is hij de auteur van Ars Organi.


Studied at the Lemmens Institute in Mechelen where he was cathedral organist from 1923 until his death in 1989. He performed organ recitals worldwide and as a teacher he directed the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp from 1952 - 68.
