Life

The Austrian composer and organist Georg Pasterwitz was also a monk. He was ordained priest at the Kremsmünster Abbey in 1753. He studied music at Kremsmünster Abbey and with Eberlin in Vienna. From 1767 till 1782 he was choirmaster at the abbey, but later he lived mainly in Vienna.
