Life
The Austrian composer, singer, pianist and organist Maria Theresia von Paradis became blind as a child. She was the daughter of imperial court secretary Josef von Paradis. She is said to have played over 60 concertos by heart, having an accurate hearing. She went on a concert tour, playing the piano, from 1783 till 1786 (a.o. Paris, London, Berlin, Prague). After she returned to Vienna, there were more tours.
