Life

Ortiz was a viol player, violins not being refined and gentile enough for court. He served the Spanish viceroy in Naples. his most important work was "Trattado de glosas", a theory of ornamentation, publised Rome 1553.(contribution by <mark(at)albinoduck.com>)
