Biography

Andrés Sas Studied in Belgium at the Music Academy of Anderlecht-Brussels, and later theory and solfeggio with Fernand Bauvias, violin with Alfred Marchot, history in music with Ernest Closson, and chamber music with Paul Miry at the Royal Cons. of Brussels. He continued his violin studies with Johan Schmitt and also studied harmony, counterpoint and fugue with Maurice Imbert. Concertmaster of the orch. of the National Society of Belgian Composers. Professor of violin at the forest Music School in Brussels. In 1924 the Peruvian government engaged him to teach violin and conduct the orch. of the National Academy of Music of Lima. He lived to his death in lima.
