Music
A number of fugues on Uzbek folk melodies. In addition to the well known Toccata, his works included operas, ballets, music dramas, chamber works and film scores.
Life
He was a pupil of Gnesin, Aleksandrov and Miaskovsky. He also studied piano with Oborin at the Moscow Conservatiore. On graduating, Mushel taught at the Tashkent Conservatiore, becoming Professor of Compositionin 1976. He was influenced by local traditional music.
