Life

The Austria-born Hungarian composer Mihály Mosonyi (whose original name was Michael Brand) studied at Pozsony (Pressburg), and then settled in Budapest. In 1859 he changed his German name to the Hungarian Mihály Mosonyi, when he wanted to compose Hungarian national music.
