Music

His music is represented in most generes: symphonic, song, solo, chamber concertos for soloist and orchestra, operas, ballets, music for cinema. His style has evolved greatly over the years starting under a heavy influence of the ‘six’ from Paris and Ravel passing through a great interest in the music brought back to Spain by people who immigrated and traveled to the Carribiean and to South America, through serial and atonal. Internationally known for the Cinco Canciones Negras (Five Black Songs) and the Sonatina pour Yvette. He has composed over 150 works.

Biography

He has lived most of his life (81 years) in Barcelona. He has traveled extensively and has had many works commissioned and performed by the greatest artist of the 20th Century: Alicia de Larrocha, Victoria de Los Angeles, Teresa Berganza, Marlyn Horne, Federica von Stade, Rostropovich, Jean Pierre Rampal, Charles Dutoit... He has composed for most genres and was still working at a surprising speed as a man of high age!
