Music

Composer of the Czardas for Violin and Orchestra.

Life

Monti was born in Naples where he studied violin and composition. Around 1900 he got an assignment as conductor in Paris where he wrote several ballets and operettas.

Without his famous Csardas he would have been virtually unknown; almost every gypsy orchestra plays Monti’s Csardas.
