Music

Life

Francisco Mignone came from Brazil. He started to study with his father, and then took courses in flute and composition under Silvio Motto, Savino Benedictis and Agostinho Cantú at the Sâu Paulo Conservatory. Later in 1920 he Studied with Vincenzo Ferroni at the Milan Conservatory, Italy. He was professor of piano and harmony at Sâu Paulo Conservatory, from 1914-1920 and from 1929-1932. In 1933, he was appointed to the faculty of the Escola National de Música of the University of Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro and taught there until 1967. His most famous work is "Sinfonia Tropical".
