xnet.ro> writes: Before Mazas was director in Cambrai, he was concerts director at Orléans. In 1842, he represented a little opera in an act-"Kiosque"-at the Comic Opera (l’Opéra Comique). His 75 etudes for violin are divided in 3 books: Etudes Spéciales, Brilliantes et D’Artistes. Les etudes d’Artistes are quite difficult, necessary in the preparation of Paganini’s 24 Caprices. He also has a viola method, an opera: Coxinne au Capitole, and a comic opera: Mustapha.
