Roger May studied music at the University of Bristol and Composing for Film and TV at the London College of Music and Media, where he won the Wilfred Joseph’s prize for the orchestral work Bariolage.
Roger May (born 1974) is a composer, orchestrator and conductor. He was appointed Composer-in-Residence to the National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain in 2008. His orchestral work Flight to the Iolite won the West Forest Sinfonia’s Birthday Commission and has been widely performed. He was the recipient of the Aldworth Philharmonic Young Composer’s Award and was subsequently commissioned to write his Concerto for Euphonium. He has also written music for film, including Time with Nyenne, winner of the Narcisse Award for Best Swiss Short Film at the Neuchâtel International Fantasy Film Festival.
