  Belgian composer Marc Achille Matthys is Laureate of the first Klara composition contest of the Belgian radio and television with "Mozart 2006 con anima" for piano trio. [VRT-VAR publishing]

Music

Matthys has composed works for piano, chamber music, voice & piano, symphonic,... Cross-over: classical music with jazz and pop influences. He is also jazz composer and arranger.

Biography

Marc Achille Matthys studied at the Royal Conservatory Gent (Belgium). He is a pianist-composer, and has worked with and for I Fiamminghi, The National Orchestra of Belgium, The Royal Philharmonic of Flanders, Dirk Brossé, Neeme Järvi, Walter Boeykens, Toots Thielemans, etc.He is a board member of SABAM (1995–1999), professor at the Hogeschool-Gent, and director of the Conservatory of Kortrijk (Belgium).
