Biography

2d Piano Concerto & Indian Suite most well known works. founder with his wife of the world famous MacDowell colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire, an artists’ retreat. Peterborough, model for the famous American play "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder who wrote the play at the colony. many other composers, playwrights, painters, writers, & poets stayed there.
