Music

Numerous waltzes, polkas, mazurkas and galops.

Life

Lumbye studied music in Randers and Odense. He composed waltzes, polkas, mazurkas and galops, and is known as the “Strauss of the North”. Lumbye became music director and in-house composer for the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
