Thomas Linley the younger wrote violin sonatas, concertos and choral works. He is known as the English Mozart. Some of his compositions:
- The song of Moses (oratorio)
- Lyric Ode to the Fairies, Aerial Beings, and Witches of Shakespeare
- Overture to the Duenna
- In yonder grove
- Ye nymphs of Albions beauty blooming isle
- Daughter of Heaven, fair thou art
Life
He is the son of Thomas Linley the elder, and his brother in law was the playwright Richard Sheridan. Thomas Linley died in a boating accident at Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire (England).
