Biography
His place of birth is now divided into two separate parts, one belonging to Slovakia, called Komarno, and another called Komárom, belonging to Hungary. The historical part of the town is still on the right side of the Danube, i.e. in Hungary. The composer was really born in the now Slovakian part of the town, but he was, has been and is considered Hungarian and he was born in Hungary, not in Slovakia, which country did not exist at that time.
