Music

Besides his well-known works for guitar, Lauro wrote, among others:

• "Cantaclaro", Choral Symphonic Poem for tenor, chorus and Orchestra. Composed 1948, premiered 1988 by the Orquesta Sinfonica Venezuela conducted by Felipe Izcaray
• Giros Negroides (Black tunes) Premiered 1954 in Caracas by the Orquesta Sinfonica Venezuela conducted by the composer.
• Misterio de Navidad, for narrator, soprano, chorus and Orchestra, written for a Christmas Radio Broadcast in the fifties.
• Sonata for Guitar
• Suite for Guitar
• Suite for piano solo
• Diverse choral works a Capella:
• Alla va un Encobijado
• Viento
• Crepuscular
• Endecha

Biography

Lauro was also a well-known baritone, and he sang mostly oratorios: Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, and Antonio Estévez’s Cantata Criolla.
