Biography

Kennan studied with Ildebrando Pizzetti in Italy & got the Prix de Rome award in composition. He also recieved his masters degree from the Eastman School of Music. Kennan wrote two highly praised textbooks on music theory: "Technique of Orchestration" & "Counterpoint". In 1957 he took up a teaching position at the University of Texas.
