- Wolf Prize for Kancheli and Claudio Abbado
(22 January 2008)On 21 January the Wolf Foundation has announced the winners of the Wolf awards for 2007.
The music award is for composer Italian composer Giya Kancheli and the conductor Claudio Abbado.
Kancheli and Abbado will receive a diploma and a sum of $100,000 from the president of Israel in a ceremony at the Knesset next Sunday, 27 January.
Richardo Wolf, who lived from 1887 till 1981, was a German-born inventor, businessman and diplomat. The awards were established in 1975.
