Music

Life

Polish violinist and composer Feliks Janiewicz first played in the Polish Royal Chapel. In 1785 he went to Vienna, where he met Haydn and Mozart, and then appeared in Italy and later Paris (he played in the Duke of Orleans’s chapel).

From 1792 he lived in Britain; still a successful virtuoso, he also ran a music publishing and instrument firm (from 1803) and organized musical events.

He composed violin concertos and sonatas, piano music and songs.
