Biography
Polish violinist and composer Feliks Janiewicz first played in the Polish Royal Chapel. In 1785 he went to Vienna, where he met Haydn and Mozart , and then appeared in Italy and later Paris (he played in the Duke of Orleans’s chapel).
From 1792 he lived in Britain; still a successful virtuoso, he also ran a music publishing and instrument firm (from 1803) and organized musical events.
He composed violin concertos and sonatas, piano music and songs.
