Life
Candelario García de la Cadena Huízar was a Mexican composer, who studied violin and composition in his native town Jérez. He then moved on to Mexico City in 1917, where he continued his studies with Gustavo Campa at the National Conservatory of Mexico. Copyist in various Music schools, 1920–25 librarian and professor of musical analysis and composition at the National Cons. of Music of Mexico. Horn player with the Mexican symphony orchestra, Mexico city 1929–1937. After that lived as a Composer till his death in 1970.
The New Grove gives 1888 as Huízar’s year of birth.
