Is the Festival being recorded? Could we see some CDs appearing?

[by “Anonymous” on 2010-04-18 15:05:18]

I see that Wikipedia gives 1883 (German version gives 1882). The other dates in his biography suggest that Huízar was born earlier than 1888. So I have set it to 1883 now.

Canderlario Huizar

I believe that your birthdate for Huizar is wrong. Checking other sources, it appears that Huizar was born on February 2, 1883, not 1888. This week a festival in honor of Huizar is taking place in Jerez, Zacatecas, including a performance of Huizar's 4th Symphony (the "Cora"), by the Zacatecas Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Sergio Cardenas, with the family of the composer in attendence.
