John Hebden was not born in 1712. His baptism was at Denton,Otley in 1701. Google for Hebden Clan and see Chart No 13 - H28/13

Music

Life

In 1730 played cello, viola da gamba and bassoon for "All the best Hands in Town" who gave concerts in York.

Moved to London in 1742 and played for Thomas Arne at Vauxhall Gardens in 1745 as principal Cellist and Bassoonist.

Known to have survived are six copies of his concertos.

One portrait of Hebden, an engraving by Faber, copied from the original by Phillipe Mercier portrait painter for Frederick Prince of Wales.
