Music

Robert Grandy has written mainly for choir, organ and piano.

Biography

Grandy studied piano from an early age, but switched to organ studies in the late 70’s. He has been a church organist for almost 30 years, 22 of which were spent at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Port Hope, Ontario, Canada. He received his Service-Playing Diploma and a few years later his degree of Colleague (CRCCO) from the Royal Canadian College of Organists with the highest marks in Canada both times.

He began composing in the early 1980’s. Many of his choral works have been sung by many local church and community choirs.

Robert Grandy is currently Director of Music at Trinity United Church, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, and also the Accompanist and Composer-in-Residence for the Oriana Singers of Northumberland in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada, who have commissioned him on several occasions.
